How does the Gem Mining Sluice work?
This is one of our most exciting additions to the farm. Gem miners buy a bag of mining sand. We have several different bags available from $5 to $25. Each bag contains a variety of gems and in some bags fossils and a geode. Miners then put their bag of sand into a tray and into the water of the sluice and find their treasures as the sand washes away. Included in the activity is a collection bag for the gems and an identification card to help discover what each gem is. The Gem Mining activity has been a huge hit at the farm so far and we are sure you’ll love it too. Some of the bigger bags can be shared between several people.

What is the difference between festival days and field only days?
Festival days are Thurs-Sat this year and all of our rides, activities, and concessions will be open, similar to our other festivals. Field only days are Tues-Wed, and the only thing open will be the U-pick fields and the farm store.
